What's the process again?
Select groups/nets via telnet
ftp connect
Change to where?
get filename
(put wherever locally)
mm
ftp upload rep packet
I seem to remember this, but can't find the old cribsheet Rob or someone posted. Maybe my search foo is getting bad as I age ;) Ubuntu/mm if that helps. No problem scripting it out for automation, I just can't remember the process.
Can personal qwk be ftp'd?
That was me having a brain fart. :)
I mixed up getting a qwk packet personally and Dove-Net packets when I had my board years ago.

Yes.

Thanks guys!
Thanks guys!

Please quote some of the message that you are replying to, so folks have
some "context" and can follow the conversation thread.
... So easy, a child could do it. Child sold separately.

A general thank you for all of the replies above. It applied to everyone, so the context wasn't added of the reply "to".

I'm being snarky for humor only.
Look, when someone says thank you for a response or a bit of tech help, what's the point of quoting the entire conversation?
If you jumped in midstream and you're confused, here's a revolutionary idea: scroll up. It's all there.
This is also the reason threads go
massively long at the individual message level, because people won't
edit and quote irrelevant parts to their reply.
A thank you doesn't need a dissertation or a full-context replay like
it's a courtroom transcript.
Now weª€™re dissecting posting etiquette like it's 1994 and Usenet just booted up.
It was two keywords: thank you. It didnª€™t need a 15-message committee review. ;)

Even back when I ran a BBS, a business, and spent 20 years as a CTO ª€” Iª€™ve always written BLUF: Bottom Line Up Front.
I lead with the relevant info. Inline comments only when the thread
truly needs it.
Not trying to argue ª€” this ainª€™t Fight-o-Net. =f˜‰
I get what you're saying. Just a different communication style. It's
not meant to be abrasive.

It would be helpful if you quoted what you're replying to. I don't remember what this was about.
No, you're doing it because you're ignorant. I'm trying to help you get
past that.
Wrong. Again because of ignorance. Have you ever heard of an echomail "Offline Reader"? Apparently not, or you'd not > have made that statement above. Many folks, including me, use that method of reading/replying to messages.
You're on a roll, wrong again. That is an entirely different issue,
which I sort of agree with you on. Correct quoting methods are indeed important, including removing irrelevant parts.
Fully agree with that.
But that doesn't mean you don't quote at all.
... Ignorance can be cured. Stupid is forever.
